I have been an avid reader and a prolific writer for most of my life, and I have thirteen years of experience in educational publishing. While I most enjoy reading classic novels, contemporary fiction, and juvenile literature, I also like magazine articles about recent developments in education, world affairs, or science. When I write nonfiction, I try to give readers fresh information and insights that could lead them to look at themselves and their world from new angles.

During my spare time I write stories, playlets, and poems, which I share at a creative writers' support group and at open mikes. I also edit rough drafts of Chicago Public School students' compositions, I belong to a Great Books discussion group, and I am an active member of Chicago Women in Publishing.
